With victory in their grasp, Republicans are set to kick it away

Republican leaders are ramming through an amnesty bill – the illegals benefitted by amnesty will still vote Democrat, the legal citizens who oppose it will stay home and the Republicans will remain  in the minority. They don’t call it the stupid party for nothing.

You know they’re all going to jump on the marijuana bandwagon.

    Dude –
Have you picked a listing for the Super Bowl party yet? Steph keeps asking me.

Who is the half time show? Can you believe it’s been 10 years since the Jansen Jackson nipple slip? And why was that a big deal?

We spend the first 11 years of our life breast feeding. Then we hit a two year dry spell, and pick up where we left off. Right?

So why do people get so freaked out over female nipples. I find it disgraceful women don’t revolt over this.

Katy Perry should do a full on nipple attack at half time to protest this. Hidden nipples will NOT STAND!!

    Do you abide Dude?

    Your Pal,

    PS –
I caught the lily pad comment. You frigging loser.

It’s much less surprising now that I’ve accepted that the majority of republicans in power are not conservatives.

This federal government is evil, and it’s getting worse.

The Republicans might have a future if they can clean out the DINOSAUR GRAVEYARD: guys like Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Orrin Hatch, Jon Cornyn, Richard Luger. They also need to get rid of their RINO collection: people like Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, John Boner, Chris Christie, though he’s more of a HIPPO than a RINO.

The Dinosaur Graveyard — time to clean it out. They’ve served (themselves) long enough.

Who has a legitimate plan? Anyone? We’re never going to be able to rid the country of illegals. They’re not leaving. Their kids are in schools. Might as well tax them like the rest of us, no?

    • How about this one?

ROGER SIMON: A Modest Proposal For Immigration Reform. “Illegal immigrants, assuming they have lived here for a decent period of time and have not committed a felony, can have amnesty, but they can NEVER be allowed to vote. They can do anything else that is legal, but if they want to vote — or run for office or practice law in our country, as just happened in California — they must return home and go through the normal immigrant application process, however long that may take until they have citizenship.”

“Might as well tax them like the rest of us, no?”

Won’t happen. The typical illegal immigrant family will probably NEVER pay any net taxes.

Consider: most of them are not high school graduates and the average value of government services – education, food stamps, health care, etc. in excess of taxes paid (mostly sales tax and (maybe) FICA/Medicare – for households headed by non-high school graduates is in the neightborhood of $20,000 annually. That “inexpensive” household and landscaping help really isn’t (see lunch, not free…)

I’m not a fan of Pat Buchanan but when he’s right he’s right. IMO this column explains succinctly how the Republican party from Bush I onward has destroyed the lower/mid-level of the American middle class (http://www.wnd.com/2014/01/how-the-gop-lost-middle-america/ ):

How the GOP lost Middle America: …To understand why and how the Republican Party lost Middle America, and faces demographic death, we need to go back to Bush I.

At the Cold War’s end, the GOP reached a fork in the road. The determination of Middle Americans to preserve the country they grew up in suddenly collided with the profit motive of Corporate America.

The Fortune 500 wanted to close factories in the USA and ship production abroad – where unions did not exist, regulations were light, taxes were low, and wages were a fraction of what they were here in America…

(and) …While manufacturing sought to move production abroad, hotels, motels, bars, restaurants, farms and construction companies that could not move abroad also wanted to replace their expensive American workers.

Thanks to the Republican Party, Corporate America got it all.

U.S. factories in the scores of thousands were shut down, shedding their American workers. Foreign-made goods poured in, filling U.S. stores and killing the manufacturers who had stayed behind, loyal to their U.S. workers.

The Reagan prosperity was exported to Asia and China by the Bush Republicans.

(and) …As those hotels, motels, restaurants, bars, fast-food shops, car washes, groceries and other service industries also relished the rewards of cheap foreign labor, they got government assistance in replacing their American workers.”

Ya know, I hate to admit to memory failings . . .

How many times in the last 50 years has amnesty been discussed, granted, partially . . .

    Inquiring minds want to know.
