Give them credit for being prescient

Clinton administration staff and the Democrat National Committee warned of the Internet’s use by the “right-wing conspiracy” way back in 19995.  Just released documents (on Good Friday, naturally) from the Clinton Library. Now we know where Hillary’s talking point came from.

The White House counsel’s office and Democratic National Committee produced the report, which explains how “Republican staffers surf the Internet,” and describes it as “one of the major and most dynamic modes of communication.” “The Internet can link people, groups and organizations together instantly,” the report reads. “Moreover, it allows an extraordinary amount of unregulated data and information to be located in one area and available to all. The right wing has seized upon the internet as a means of communicating its ideas to people. Moreover, evidence exists that Republican staffers surf the internet, interacting with extremists in order to exchange ideas and information.”

“Unregulated information”: the fear of every despot.

In the book “Farenheit 451”, they burned the books.
Now how the heck do you burn an internet?
You don’t. It’s the voter who gets burned. And when the voter gets burned, you burn the whole country. Where’s Nero when you need him?

Too bad so many people are more interested in slurping up the “entertainment” industry’s bukkake discharges than paying close attention to their public servants’ malfeasance.

Hillary also noted that they would have to “control” the net.

Does this have anything to do with trying to transfer the responsibility of assigning names and numbers from ICANN to a yet to be named entity?

  6. This is why the old Soviet Union keep copiers under lock and key.

At least if she runs for president, some “journalist” may ask her to explain her stupid ‘vast right wing conspiracy’ remarks, which has never been done, inexcusably.

Yeah, I know, but one can dream………
