Biden: “There’s no reason the nation of Africa can’t [succeed]; simply no reason.”

Except, perhaps, because no such nation exists, but don’t tell poor Joe that.

    i saw the headline on bloomberg this a.m. where obozo squeezed u.s. companies to invest FOURTEEN BILLION in that backwards shithole of a land mass, and i was simply incensed.

    why not offer tax breaks or squeeze the companies to invest in AMERICA???

      Ironic you saw headline on Bloomberg as King Mike was at the summit, leading the pack of stupid talking heads encouraging more US investment in Africa. The usual line up of libs was there- AmbassadorRice, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Penny Pritzer, all claiming now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of this nation.

    I think you are being a bit harsh on Joe. We could have done worse. In fact, WE HAVE!!

    And isn’t there something to be said about professional courtesy? He does hold the Village Idiot position in DC, so don’t you guys have any non-disparagement clauses in your bylaws? Are you trying to get censured again?

    Anyhows, the reason the nations of Africa can’t succeed is because they are all led by corrupt dictators, without a strong constitution, who rule by fiat, surrounded by a puppet government.

    I think that periodically Odinglebarry sends Biden out unscripted just to remind everyone that no matter how bad he is himself, it could still be worse under Biden.

    i’d taken biden over obama, hands down. yes, that’s like saying i’d rather get hit by a cement truck vs. die slowly from herpes run amok, but still. it’s just less bad.

    Interestingly, a large number of Americans think Africa is a nation. Why? Simply, lack of education on world affairs, geography etc. Not surprised.

          I’m sure I’m not alone in finding these interviews of “the common people” unbelievably depressing – much more sad than funny. A genuine democracy depends upon a reasonably well-informed citizenry, so where does that leave us? Greenwich Old Timer

          Anonymous: Mark doesn’t do interviews with average American “common people,” he does interviews with Cali college students on their campuses or with the denizens of California’s coastal long piers. That is a very narrow subset of the American people and almost uniformly willfully ignorant of all that goes on outside their own existence, kinda like proggy Manhattanites.
