11 Cove Road

11 Cove Road, Old Greenwich, $3.5 million, asked $5.4 million. Still a hefty price, but I’m not the only one who loves the Lucas Point neighborhood. Listing says the house stayed dry in Sandy, and I’m sure it did, but I imagine that whatever gets built here will still have to be elevated quite a bit to meet FEMA standards.

    What are considered to be the best private neighborhoods in Riverside and OG?

        Don’t knock OG and Riverside just because you’re as cheek-by-jowl with your neighbors as you’d be in a trailer park–trailer parks are private neighborhoods, too!

    Perhaps he/she meant private roads/associations. If so, I’ll chime in for OG. They would be: Binney lane, Sylvan lane, Rocky Point rd, Meadowbank rd, and the parts of Lucas point that aren’t tidal.

      Yes, that’s exactly what I meant. I’d say parts of private associations in Riverside are relatively private too, in the sense that anon 5:39 means.

      What does a private road or association around here get you besides aggravation and more costs? It is not like these are gated areas who can keep out the riff raff. I’ve never been denied access to any of the OG roads cited. I have been given a hard time by the part time security guard at the Harbor Point Association in Riverside who is sent by his masters to harass visitors. Or maybe his job is to keep the nut job inmates inside the gates of Harbor Point.

    Best OG/Riverside neighborhoods and (private) streets: if memory serves me well, I think Chris wrote an article about this a few years back. I think he picked Quintard and Binney.
