11 Club Road

11 Club Road

11 Club Road, Riverside, reports a contingent contract. Last asking price, $6.4 million. Our now-edited MLS records only show the sales history on this going back to 2011, when it was asking $8.5 million, but I’m pretty sure it was on the market several years further than that. In any event, it has a buyer. Grand old, beautiful house, with some issues (or it did at some point, perhaps long since corrected). I’m jealous of the buyers.

  1. Commodore Tyson’s old joint…one of two he built on Club Road, but the only one remaining.

Love everything except the tv over the bedroom entry. How bad do you need a 19″ flat panel there?

  3. When the buyers move in and find that the porte cochere is missing, Sawzall’ed off and hauled away, I might know who is to blame. This one is a beauty. Jealous. Jealous.

Had I the funds, I would take this over new construction any day.

It might have sold quicker if it weren’t overstuffed with furniture, at least per the listing photos. Is there something wrong with being able to walk through a room without tripping over a piece of furniture? Did Cindy what’s her name do this house also?

The interior is borderline campy–especially that bar. Hate the yellow exterior with that black roof. The overhead view with the classic Riverside 70s split-level neighbor really destroys the turn-of-the-century patina here. But there’s potential here.

  7. Beautiful place. House design reached its apogee in the Victorian era. Since then, design has gotten worse.

Wouldn’t it be great to afford a nice lot and build an 1890 house like this on it?
