Lady who robbed Greenwich Bank & Trust’s Riverside branch has hit another bank in New Jersey. Police have confirmed what I first suggested, that she’s not using a real gun, but my outrage was huge when I realized she’d terrorized the small staff at my own branch, people I know and like. Had I been there, I’d probably cracked an elbow into her face and put an end to her nonsense but …
Some on finance board question pool project costs. They seem to be nibbling at the corners of the proposal: why a separate kiddie pool? Why so much parking? When instead they should have sharpened a stake and driving it through the heart. One democrat on the board loves it just the way it is, of course. He lost the race for First Selectman a while back, but his daughter is now our town planner. That was probably not a good tradeoff, because the First Selectman has far less power, and can do less damage, than the Town Planner.
BET member John Blankley was one of the few on the board to openly support the current plan.
“I do not want to postpone this project or have something smaller or less costly,” Blankley said. “I think this is a fine example of what we ought to be doing in Greenwich … It seems incumbent of us to find a way to finance something that will be worthy for the public in Greenwich.”
