I guess he was too busy investigating Russian porn to attend to this

Somewhere in the bowels of Town Hall: Находитесь ли вы под 12 ?

Before he finally retired as Greenwich’s IT manager, Boris Hutorin, or someone under his supervision, was caught spending time on Russian porn sites. Aside from a massive failure of the town’s computer system with the permanent loss of 5 terabytes of data because he had installed no backup system (!), no one’s sure what he actually did during his 13-year-tenure (“we looking into it”, said Peter Tesei).

One thing I just discovered he never got around to, nor his successor, is to provide online access to our RTM members. I attempted just now to contact my District 5 representatives to voice my opposition to the Byram pool fiasco and discovered that not only is there no way to email all of them, there are no email addresses provided for any of them. It’s quaint to think we should send them personal letters, but that system of communication went to the great buggy whip factory in the sky, long ago.

Ridiculous.

OK….lets all admit that the numerous FUBAR technology fiasco’s in this Town include the RTM.

Here is the RTM’s website (that is managed by someone who is not even part of the RTM or a Town employee). You will see all your District 5 members listed.

    http://rtm.greenwich.org/

    Good luck.

As the web master for the above mentioned site, it was a “policy” decision recommended by the RTM moderator Tom Byrne to NOT publish the email addresses of the members by default, but allow each member to publish their “private” information (address, telephone, email) if they chose.

The moderator’s technology committee kowtowed and made the publishing of PUBLIC INFORMATION optional for the RTM members. The moderators concern? That the public would comment on or contact the RTM and members in a negative fashion.

      Ain’t Greenwich “democracy” great?

P.S. – The moderator can be reached at tjbog@aol.com (that kinda says it all, doesn’t it?)

      • Maybe there could be a central email address that could automatically direct emails to the specific member(s) named in the subject field? I know nothing about website design, so this may be a ridiculously naive estimation of a program’s capability – I just toss it out as a suggestion.

Chris …. that’s actually not a bad idea. Let me look into it. It shouldn’t be hard to have some email aliases (like ‘rtm-district-5@rtm.greenwich.org) get sent to all the members of that district.

Come again web master? You are allowed to publish a RTM member’s actual HOME address but not an EMAIL address that a dog can set up over the Internet using fake personal information?

        • Anonymous

Have you seen most of the RTM? most of them are afraid to use computers because they think it will mess up their pacemaker

        • Demmerkrat Patriot

          Anon:

All elected public officials are required to have their residential address available to prove that have been elected from the correct district. This is public information (local, state, federal).

The RTM moderator convinced his technology committee to not publish the information by default because he was afraid that the RTM members would be recipients of less-than-nice comments or messages. The RTM members themselves can choose to have this information displayed on the RTM web site.

    Dude –
I have no problem with this guy surfing porn at work. I mean, who doesn’t do that? And he is, after all, a municipal employee. What do you expect him to do, a crossword puzzle? Those are too hard for him, you ELITIST SLOB!!
But Russian porn? PLEASE!! There is no excuse for that. Why isn’t he watching Jap school girl porn, the gold standard of porn, which you so prefer?
Who appointed this no taste slug to this feather bed job? WAS IT FRANCIS?

And he better not be watching this on pay per view porn on my tax dollars.
THAT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH. And how much did we pay for this guys kleenex?

    Your Pal,
    Walt

    • He made over $100,000 and, although no one ever publicly named him as the culprit, he was the only guy in the department who read Russian. Had he been Japanese, we’d probably have found pictures and videos of Japanese school girls doing the dirty.

I read/heard about the town’s joke of an IT department. I begged a competent tech manager I know to ditch our corporate hell hole and go for this job – but he didn’t bother and the job went to a friend of Tesei’s.

    • I looked at the job. They wanted an application fee or they wouldn’t look at your resume unless you were a current town employee. That was enough to tell me that they really had no interest in finding the best candidate.

      • Walt

        Dude –

Is what Richard says correct, or is he just yanking our crank? It CANNOT be true that the town charges non-town employees to apply for a job, could it? They don’t want to see the best candidates? They want to keep all the jobs amongst those already in the club?

THIS IS INCESTUOUS!! This is why all the town employees look like the banjo playing, big headed mongoloid retarded kid from Deliverance. Did you ever see that movie Dude? Great flick!! Now squeal like a pig!!

Anyhows, if Richard is telling the truth, and not yanking our puds, I DEMAND THIS BE STOPPED!! I want a meeting with our Mayor. Who is our Mayor Dude? How do Francis and Lee Mazzilli support this. IT IS A DISGUSTING, COUNTER PRODUCTIVE POLICY!!

This is a sure sign of nepotism, favoritism, AND IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!! I WANT IT STOPPED!!

Get the Five Families together so we can resolve this. Arrange the meeting. Not Cos Cob. Harlem. So I feel safe.

        Your Pal,
        Walt

        • Walt, I can assure you that I I am not yanking or pulling anything. They wanted $20 with the resume and it had to be mailed in, another interesting anachronism when recruiting for an IT person. All of the barriers they put in place made it obvious that they already knew who they were going to hire but had to go through the motions of recruiting someone.

I remember it well because I was in serious job hunting mode when the position was open. They had cut off access to French porn where I used to work.

          Sacrebleu!

  4. TheBox in 'Byram'

ALL APPLICANTS, except for current union represented Town of Greenwich employees, MUST PAY A NON-REFUNDABLE FEE OF $20 which must be received by the Town of Greenwich Human Resources Department no later than the close date. Failure to pay this fee by the deadline will disqualify candidates from continuing in the process.
