I hate when this happens

70 Lower Cross Road

70 Lower Cross Road

Joe Barbieri has sold 70 Lower Cross Road, 10 fantastic acres, for $2.725 million. I wrote about in 2013, when it was priced at $4.250 and again just this past December, when I said,

“New agent – Joe Barbieri – and new price, but don’t buy it from Joe, who’s earned so much money this year that he confesses he has literally no idea what to do with it, and buy it through me, instead. Joe still gets his half.”

Did anyone listen? No, they did not.

Well, AA sponsors aren’t priests

MILTOF Rachael Lenhardt

MILTOF Rachael Lenhardt

Woman’s AA sponsor narcs her after she confesses to throwing naked booze and weed party for her 16-year-old daughter and friends.

An Evans, Ga., mom faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after she told her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor that she threw a drunken, naked Twister party for her teen daughter and her friends. The sponsor responded to the randy mom’s plea for help by narcing her out to the sheriff’s department.

Rachel Lenhardt, 35, allegedly told her sponsor that her 16-year-old daughter texted her asking if she could bring friends over to party. Lenhardt agreed, and provided alcohol and weed for the group of teens, the Augusta Chronicle reports.

Lenhardt’s alleged story to her sober buddy only gets wilder from there. According to Augusta Crime: She initially joined in the teens’ naked game of Twister, but ended up [having sexual congress with] an 18-year-old in the bathroom. Later, because she was still “horny,” she brought out some sex toys and began using them on herself in the living room. The whole naked party eventually moved to the hot tub.

The night ended for Lenhardt around 3:30 a.m., when she woke up in her bed to find her daughter’s 16-year-old boyfriend having sex with her. According to an Evans County sheriff’s report quoted by the Huffington Post,

“Mrs. Lehnardt told [the sponsor] she and her daughter had spoken and that her daughter ‘felt guilty because the 16-year-old was 10 inches long and huge, and if she had just been able to take it, he wouldn’t have needed to rape her mother.'”

The sponsor said Lenhardt had previously shown her daughter porn photos she’d taken with her current boyfriend, and confessed to being a “sexual deviant” and “porn addict.”

The horny mom, arrested based on the sponsor’s story, won’t face any sex-related charges because 16 is Georgia’s age of consent. She’s currently free on a $3,200 bond, according to the Chronicle.

Sale on N. Maple Avenue

314 N. Maple Avenue

314 N. Maple Avenue

314 North Maple, $1.455 million.Nice old house, seeming untouched since 1925, decent land, but it swayed like a broken-backed camel, and wetlands posed a problem. My own clients balked; someone else didn’t.

They shoot idiots, don’t they?

And if not, why not?

Two readers have sent along pictures of an illiterate driver in Old Greenwich who either can’t read height signs, or doesn’t know the height of his own truck. Hang ‘im high.

Mid-Country price cut

11 Red Coat Lane

11 Red Coat Lane

11 Red Coat Lane (off of North Street), reduced from its September 2014 price of $2.895 million to $2.75o. It’s sold twice since 2005, the first time for $2.6, then again in 2008 for $2.830, and it’s a good house on a nice road, and land, but it suffers from the dreaded  “low ceiling” syndrome of 1974 construction, and that’s out of favor. I’d guess that it’s headed for the “free-house” category: land value only, but it’s approaching that now, probably, and there could be a nice bargain here.

Dang – how many moon-eyed teenagers shuffled slowly around high school gymnasiums to this song?

Percy Sledge dead at 74. He wrote “When a man loves a woman” in 1966, and if he’d never written another song, he’d still be immortal. A friend once observed, “man, put that record on in front of the girls, and stand back”. Ah, but boys liked it too.

UPDATE: Son of a gun – they’ve blocked all links to videos of Sledge performing this song, so the previous link has been disappeared. Bummer.

A suicide is always tragic, but we probably don’t need to mourn his restaurant

Celebrity Chicago chef Homaro Cantu hangs himself, leaving a wife and two young girls.  A sad tale, but when I scrolled down and saw this picture of “Road Kill” – raccoon meat spread over a plate, I found my sympathy for his customers, now denied a chance to spend ridiculous amounts of money on ridiculous food, somewhat limited.

(Although I’ll admit, it is funny).
