My Ma’s memorial celebration will be held this Saturday at the Riverside Yacht Club from 1-3:30 (but you’ll have to clear out then to make way for the club’s new money-raiser, a Kentucky Derby party). All are welcome.

Although I never was acquainted with your mother, if she produced a son like Christopher then she must have been quite a woman! God Bless you all!
However, getting the bum’s rush for a Kentucky Derby Party is disturbing. The fact that a tony old yacht club must stoop to a Kentucky Derby Party to raise $$$ is a sign of the times? Horrors!

      “tony”?

Chris – We are flying up to CT to attend the memorial service for a good friend at the RYC the weekend after your mother’s service. In all honesty, your service will most likely be more interesting. You were kind too mention it as if to include your motley group of readers – I for one will be there in spirit, even though I never had the privilege of meeting your mother, who was obviously an extremely valuable and special person. May the force be with you and your family! Greenwich Oldtimer

the villagers danced … because they died by age 35 on average and lived life to the fullest.

I assume those were the Flemish Fountains. Which relative is pissing on the left?

That pic looks like an Irish scene (I know its not) except for the maypole. I avoid removals, funerals and was as much as I can, not because of any lack of feeling towards the deceased but I just find these events really depressing. Hope you have a good time.

Mickster. It’s a PAR-TEE, not a morose funeral or memorial service, EXACTLY the way Leatrice wanted it be (so I am told)., i.e. not at all depressing, rather a celebration of her life.
