The plaintiffs won, which means that the taxpayers will pay themselves a refund out of their own taxes. Oh, minus a wee bit of cash diverted to the lawyers who brought the suit, naturally.
The attorneys who fought the city on the hydrants will get $4.2 million plus interest charges.
