Feds look to freeze Ruth Madoff’s assets

Ruthie has agreed to a voluntary freeze but that’s not the same thing. According to the NY Post, the feds are building a criminal case against the $65 million cookbook authoress and want to make sure the money’s still around when they prevail. Walt and Monica’s drink parasols are, so far, safe from such thuggery. Skoal!

Thank you to the karmic planes that there is justice in this world. Section 8 housing and food stamps with Ruthie and family stripped of their ill gotten gains will be justice for many. Most will want to see her and her son’s in a cell like Bernie. Personally, I think it will be painful enough for them to live like the working poor.

Even if, for the sake of argument, we all agree that Ruth Madoff had zero involvement in, and zero knowledge of, Bernie’s scam, the fruits of the scam are stolen property and the recipient has no right at all to the lucre. Thus, unless Ruth can show that her millions derived from her legal efforts in some area other than hubby’s brokerage, trading and scamming, th0se assets must be retrieved for the victims. It’s the legally and morally correct outcome.

I agree, Edgewater – I don’t see how she walks away with anything. It’ll be interesting to see if the Madoff boys can hang on to their assets. Supposedly, they ran the independent trading company but it seems as though that enterprise was propped up by illicit monies from Papa Madoff’s scam. if so, and there were no profits paid to the boys from their trading company, the $ they paid themselves must be tainted. Or so goes my logic. Strip ’em, Danno!
