Sacrificial anode

You protect a boat’s metal fittings from underwater corrosion by attaching a block of zinc to it and letting electrolysis eat the zinc, not your valuable things like propellers or plugs that keep your boat from sinking. This same theory explains why Riverside residents like having Old Greenwich to their east. Over in Havemeyer, Front Row Phil’s talkig about buying a shotgun. Hell, for the advantages of having a first line of defense, I’ll give him one of mine. Teach him to use it, too.

Precisely why I ditched the OG idea and went with Riverside south of the Post Road — only one or two ways in and out. Those thugs from Stamford that plunder and pillage only get so deep in our territory before they retreat. Unfortunately OG is on the front lines of this war. And to our west….well, let’s just say that you don’t know who is doing the plundering and pillaging, the Port Chesterions or the Byram residents themselves.

this is precisely one of the reason’s i decided on Cos Cob. we’re the pearl clutched between Greenwich and Riverside (Riverside is our zinc).

of course, its possible the crime wave could come from within town, but odds are its not.

Cos Cobber, just remember: rough men do justice so the innocent can sleep. We’ve got your back, buddy.

Ah, I believe the Chimblos are a Cos Cob family.

they are indeed residents. we have a few, really just a few bad apples, but they tend to commit crime to people they know instead of random acts. i don’t know them, so i don’t fear them. 🙂

Don’t get too comfortable, CC – One Chimblo cut his teeth burning down structures (admittedly, in Riverside, so at least he didn’t foul his own nest) like the Riverside railroad station and a garage on Gilliam Lane, then, after his own criminal career, spawned (whelped?) a new generation which, together with yet another generation, keeps the police blotter filled with amusing anecdotes about burglary, drugs and domestic mayhem. I heard that Social Services was trying to transfer the whole clan to Old Greenwich but that’s probably just a malicious rumor, spread to drive Havemeyer property values down.

rough justice 06878 style eh? would that be something like sicking the poodle on the bad fellows while catching the action on one of your 24 hd security cameras and vacating the home with your spare roof top helicopter?

in any event, i do appreciate it, no matter how you get it done. i do sleep better. thank you and thank you clamshell geography too.

How many Riversiders does it take to deal with a criminal? Two; one to stir the martinis, the other to call 911.

I like your joke CF. Just remember to maintain a “diverse” bar on hand. Your intruders may not be the martini crowd.

We really need Front Row Phil to weigh in on this situation.

I can’t wait until it’s revealed that these “Stamford thugs” were a couple of GHS kids.

Had my ipod stolen out of my car in the driveway on Breezemont in February. If I catch anyone going near that car, wherever they come from, they are getting their nuts chewed off by my dogs…
