CBS affiliate reports on imaginary Kwanzaa parade

In LA, CBS Station Pretends There Was a Real Kwanzaa Parade Yesterday

In an example of shameless Soviet-level deceit, CBS-LA reported colorful details, such as:

Some participants walked the parade carrying signs underlining important issues to the community, such as police brutality, home foreclosures, judicial corruption, transparency in government and environmental racism.

Except — there was no parade.

None.

It didn’t happen.

An imaginary parade for an imaginary holiday.

It’s actually the most fitting “celebration” of Kwanzaa I’ve ever heard of.

How perfect that our fake president sends out well wishes for a fake holiday:

“President Obama: ‘Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to those celebrating Kwanzaa this holiday season. Today begins a celebration highlighting the rich African American heritage and culture through the seven principles of Kwanzaa-unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith’ – White House statement”

    News 12
Home invasion on Ridge Street last night!!!!

Scary. Do you know if it was the Greenwich or Cos Cob Ridge?

      • Matt

I believe it was the Greenwich Ridge. Apparently the homeowners were tied up. I guess I’ll be locking my door when I go to the store. And the metal club in the closet might have to be replaced with a pistol.

        • Cos Cobber

I’ll be interested to see how this story develops. Over the years in this town, we have seen more than a few stories ‘evolve’ to a different truth.

Holy friggin crap! While this story is amusing, it serves to remind us of the absolute power that the media has. And lately their focus is to agitate a minority underclass and a hard core liberal base bent on the destruction of the very folks who pay their way in life. No pictures to back this fantasy parade up, but I’m sure photoshop can come to the rescue there, or pics of an event 30 yrs ago. Who would know.

    Obama Converting to Judaism
In an effort to overcome the continuing criticism that he is unsupportive and, in fact, dismissive of Israel, today President Obama announced that he is converting to Judaism in the hope that this will demonstrate his affinity to and empathy with the Israeli people.

Authorities have been unable to handle the millions of applicants who have volunteered to perform the circumcision.

I read the LA times and there was a photo of parade in the print edition the other day so this caught my eye. There are more photos online as well. It looks like it was a real parade.

A phony parade for a phony holidsy

    • Exactly. There were four people, for two minutes, from which the reporter spun her tale. I suspect that she never bothered to actually, you know, witnessed it, but just mailed it in, basing her story on a press release. Nothing too surprising about that, there are lots of lazy fucks out there, working in all sorts of professions, but news editors used to be responsible people.
      No longer.

Look, you’re doing it all wrong. If you’re going to have an imaginary parade, you have to use your imagination. The Grand Marshall, Rev. Al Sharpton, should lead the parade on his Unicorn, while Eric Holder and Bigfoot wave from the back seat of fully functional Chevy Volt.
Oh, and CBS tops the ratings.
Now THAT’S a fantasy for you.
